At Elsilver I offer a number of workshops, scroll down for what is coming up and to book your space, they often sell out quickly!

Stacking Rings

During this 3 hour workshop, you will have a choice of semi precious stones you can put together to make yourself ( or someone else) this lovely set of three rings which can be worn together or individually. You will learn how to texturise the band using a variety of techniques

Areas covered in this session:

  • How to use basic jewellery tools

  • How to size a ring

  • Safety in the workshop 

  • Soldering using a blow torch

  • Sawing 

  • Filing 

  • Pickling 

  • Sanding and polishing

  • Bezel setting using bezel cups

All materials are included as are tea and biscuits! 

 

You’ll be working in a friendly atmosphere with a maximum of 6 people.

Please Note:

We will ask you to wear a N95 face mask for use when soldering, filing and sanding etc, and to wear a cotton apron ( you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer)

Metal EMbossing

This is a very relaxing and enjoyable workshop where you have the choice of decorating a box or a sketchbook/journal with your embossed design and then be able to take it home with you 

​

This includes :

​

* Creating your design

* Learning how to use specific embossing tools and how to utilise what you have at home

* How to make marks and texture in thin gauge metals 

* You will have a chance to practice before starting your main piece 

* Learning about different metals available to use for this craft

* How ro apply a patina style finish and other options available to you

* How to apply your finished piece to a flat surface

* You will take home your piece!   

* Light refreshments will be provided

 

Students will also have the opportunity to purchase tools and materials after the course if they would like to do so. 

Bangle Making

During this workshop,  included is the you will have the choice of a stamped bangle on flat wire with or a round wire bangle that can be uniquely textured. Students will also have the choice of adding a charm (or more) which can be paid for on the day for an additional £5 each

  • How to use basic jewellery tools

  • How to size a bangle

  • Safety in the workshop 

  • How to use channel stamps and wire dies to create patterned texture

  • Soldering using a blow torch

  • Hand stamping

  • Sawing 

  • Filing 

  • Pickling 

  • Sanding and polishing

All materials to make the bangles are included as are tea and biscuits! Charms of different shapes can be purchased starting at £10

During this workshop you will design and make a pendant using sterling silver sheet provided. The shape and surface design will be totally your choice using a variety of techniques that are demonstrated on the day. Materials to make the pendant will be provided plus you will have the option to purchase a chain on the day.

Earrings

During this workshop, you can make 2 beautiful pairs of earrings which , dependant on your design can have a semi precious stone included. The pairs can be dangles or studs. If you have time you can make further pairs for £15 per pair

You’ll be working in a friendly atmosphere with a maximum of 6 people.

Metal Clay earrings or pendants

Metal clay examples

Learn to use this magical medium to create your very own solid silver jewellery. You can choose to make a pendant or earrings using the clay provided. The beauty of metal clay is you can create more textured pieces that can have a 3D effect with endless possibilities 

 

During the morning you will learn

  • How to handle silver clay 

  • How to roll out to an even thickness

  • How to pierce out shapes in the clay

  • How to incorporate textures into the clay

  • How to use molds, dies, cutters and other items to create gorgeous designs

  • How to handle the clay in the dry stage

  • How to fire your piece using a gas torch

  • How to finish your piece

Tea & biscuits will be provided. 

 

Silver clay is included in the price, silver chains and earring hook options will be available to purchase on the day.
